Hi all,

A few years ago I found a few blooming specimens of what I have now identified as Toxicoscordion micranthum (syn. Zigadenus micranthus) growing in the field behind my house.

In the pictures, you may be able to see the beetle that was perched on top of the inflorescence for over a week last year (we have summer drought). It may act as the pollinator, though beetles are not the most efficient pollinators, eating pollen and sometimes the flowers themselves of some plants. The nectar and pollen is reportedly toxic and harmful to bees, despite evidence that native and honey bees do occasionally visit the flowers.

The species T. micranthum has been added to the wiki. And thank you, David Pilling for uploading the pictures for me!
