Regarding A. shawii, the bulbs are flattened and grow shallow in the soil. Most notably this species is fully cold hardy in NY, flowers in June/early July with foliage present of course. So I started Albuca shawii from seed from the AGCBC exchange, and my original bulbs are slightly different. The seed started Albuca are the same as your Wiki but my bulbs when putting up the flower stock send up long tuffs of green with the flowers unlike the seed started Albuca. The reason i am sending this information is because I was going to send seed / bulbs to the BX of both and wondered if that makes a difference to any one. I have pictures if anyone is interested. jyl tuck sunny in Yale B.C.
