**Haemanthus species can be either winter or summer growing; you need to look up the species in the wiki.** I am growing from seed what was sent to me as Haemanthus coccineus. They are now at the end of their second season but grow in summer, not winter. They currently have leaves up to a foot or so long, looking very similar to those of the photo of Angelo Porcelli, but without the hairs, at present anyway. The leaves may be longer than they should be as they have been in a north window this year. The wiki suggests they should be winter growing or are they that variable they can be either?
