It would be interesting to see if the hybrid would require a rest period.

Subject: [pbs] Boophone disticha; winter, summer or opportunistic.

I was recently discussing with Arnold, another NJ member, what are his tips
for growing winter bulbs. When the subject of B. disticha came up Arnold
said his plant is a summer growing plant. That piqued my interest since my
small plants begin to leaf out in fall. After some reading I found that they
grow in both winter and summer rainfall regions. The question then, is B.
disticha a single specie? Or is one a subspecie of the other? Or could it be
an opportunistic specie when it come to water availability?
