I corresponded briefly with Tanaka-san a couple of years ago. He gave us permission to reproduce his photos on the PBS wiki. Since I don't speak Japanese, I wrote to him in English and he replied in the same. My guess is that his English skills are limited, but they're a lot better than my Japanese!
