The × Amarcrinum are beginning to bloom here. In an earlier post I think I described Lycoris squamigera as our compensation for not being able to grow Amaryllis belladonna. But it's really the × Amarcrinum which fills that role. It has taken me a long time to accept this as a reliable garden plant, but reliable it evidently is.
