The Albuca Roy collected at Uniondale distributed as seed in BX 209 (and as bulbs in BX 178 and 287) are blooming for the first time now, and indeed as Roy stated the flowers look the same as pictured for Albuca "Augrabies Hills". However, the leaves look different from the plants pictured. The Uniondale Albuca have darker green leaves that are distinctly channelled for much of their length (not terete as described on the Wiki). The channelled part of the smooth fleshy leaves are lighter color, giving the leaf a distinct bicolored appearance. I believe that the Uniondale plants are likely a different species. m -- Dr. Monica Swartz Executive Director, Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve Associate Professor, School of Natural Sciences St. Edward's University 3001 South Congress Avenue Austin, TX 78704-6489
