Dear PBS, This morning my "strange" Dierama opened. Every year it blooms around now, completely off season from my ordinary Dierama, which bloom in late spring. This one also is shorter, has not multiplied, and has interior markings. Unfortunately I have no record of it other than it either came originally from UCSB prior to 1998 or it is a self-sown seedling of those. http://flickr.com/photos/gastils_garden/… Close-up showing interior markings and blue anthers: http://flickr.com/photos/gastils_garden/… Comparing to the PBS wiki page at http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/… it resembles D. robustum but that one blooms in summer. - Gastil Santa Barbara, CA mild mediterranean climate
