Hi there- to reply to where to get this species- try 'Grigsby Cactus'. I too love Oeceoclades & Eulophia. I have E. petersii and the other really common one- name escapes me right now- both have flower stalks 6' tall. Jude, I see Eulophia petersii more often at cactus and succulent shows than at orchid shows, and find it available more often from C&S vendors than from orchid vendors. But some other Eulophias are showing up in orchiding circles lately. I started with the Oeceoclades that Dave S. suggested (which I dearly love), went from there to the Eulophias, which are closely related, and wound up with a bunch of them. E. petersii likes a LOT of sun, compared to most. As to orchid lists, my impression is that a lot of the activity is on web-based forums these days. I belong to two (even though I'm not fond of web-based forums), but rarely check in with them. But there is a mailing list to which I've belonged for years - not high traffic, lots of knowledgeable people, if you don't mind the occasional acerbic response: "the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) orchids@freelists.org To modify your subscription to the 'OrchidGuide Digest' visit http://www.freelists.org/list/orchids/" Steve On Mon, 6 Jun 2011, dave s wrote: > Everything moves in cycles - the succulent *Eulophia* are becoming > popular, so just keep checking in with all the big succulent nurseries > out there.
