Michael, based on my limited experience the nectary shape is a classic C. superbus chevron, but the nectary hairs are rather yellower than one would expect. I would lean toward superbus just because that seems to be the default when in doubt. Speaking of C. superbus, I noticed that I have a picture of a purple form on the wiki, which I have not seen in several years. However, I do have an extra yellow form this year, which I don't remember seeing before. I am suspicious. Best, Max Oakland CA
