Or it may still be *all* Homerias in some states. I just Googled Homeria which led me to the USDA site which had a list of states that hate Homerias (or Cape Tulips) in degrees ranging from Class A Noxious Weed to Quarantine to *PROHIBITED*. Amazingly, my own Massachusetts is one of the states that prohibits them. Even colder Vermont considers them to be noxious weeds. And--get this--Minnesota also prohibits them. Was this a rationally studied classification, or a 'me too' listing by a bureaucrat who saw that California didn't like them. Where in New England could they ever be a problem? All I can think of is Cape Cod or the islands (Nantucket, Marthas Vineyard). Or under deep, deep snow in Vermont. Perhaps I should get rid of my greenhouse. --Roy NW of Boston
