Thanks, Jim, for posting that link to the aerial photos. It should be noted that NASA needs a bit of geography help; the label Argentina on the photos should instead read Bolivia. The area of snowfall is in the Altiplano, north (and inland) from the coastal town of Antofagasta. This is much farther north than the area from Coquimbo to Taltal, much visited for the famous desierto florido.
