Hi Jude, Yes, all my Rohdeas are outside in the garden - woodland or woodland edge, perfect drainage, sloping southerly or south-easterly aspect. I probably grow about a dozen named cultivars and others that friends have given me as their seedlings, or seedlings of my own that I've selected for some sort of foliage quirk - mainly very narrow or crested leaves. I grew a few hundred from seed from variegated parents and not a single one was variegated, at least for the first 2 years. Jim W certainly grows them in KC. That's pretty impressive. Have you tried any Aspidistra? Has anybody tried Rohdeas in Massachusetts? (Or another zone 5 location) and triumphed? Jude
