I do not have any activity in Facebook, specially since I started receiving unrequested information on private matters and preferences of people I do not even know, just "friends" of "friends" of "friends". You all must be familiar with the privacy problems that over and over arise. Personally, I am against anything that weaken PBS efforts in any way. What we must do is encourage more people to support PBS by becoming members and donating seeds and bulbs and not finding fancy ALTERNATIVES. And one would expect that "friends" of PBS in Facebook would be people that at the very least post in the (open to all) forum. Besides John Grimshaw, the others don't. > Date: Sat, 30 Jul 2011 15:10:09 +0200 > From: bulborum@gmail.com > To: pbs@lists.ibiblio.org > Subject: Re: [pbs] PBS on Facebook > > > if no Facebook page already exists for that club then one is automatically created. > > This is one of the things I mean > Too aggressive > > I had less as two weeks an account > and there where hundreds of people > who wanted to be "friends" > because I know some people > you seems to be automatic "friends" with everybody > > Sure The PBS the SRGC and some other do a fantastic job > but as you said: The Yahoo Group for Haemanthus is barely alive > > My father told me > if something doesn't work > look in the mirror > and ask yourself WHAT DID I DO WRONG > > sometimes too many people do the same > the best will survive > > Roland > > > > > > > > > > -- > R de Boer > La Maugardiere 1 > F 27260 EPAIGNES > FRANCE > > Phone./Fax 0033-232-576-204 > Email: bulborum@gmail.com > _______________________________________________ > pbs mailing list > pbs@lists.ibiblio.org > http://pacificbulbsociety.org/list.php > http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/
