Only some species are susceptible to this treatment, but it can save a lot of time. The resulting seedlings can exhibit etiolation. You can buy GA3 powder on ebay or from specialist seed suppliers like "Gardens North". Deno explains the procedure then. "GA-3 is sprayed on seedless grapes to increase grape size and yield" so it is a fairly common/safe chemical. I've done well using GA3 on primula sieboldii. -- David Pilling email: david@pilling.demon.co.uk web: http://www.davidpilling.net/ post: David Pilling, P.O. Box 22, Thornton-Cleveleys, Blackpool.
