Max, All my bulbs survived last winter's frosts with only minor damage - but I had limited success with seedlings. This year I've kept the seedlings near the house and they are sprouting much better. I can attest that Massonmia depressa, pustulata, and echinata; Haemanthus coccineus, albiflos and sanguineus, and Brunsvigia josephinae and Boophane haemanthoides can all withstand frequent frosty mornings without damage. I'll have more to report after this winter. -|<ipp > Date: Wed, 7 Dec 2011 22:14:28 -0800 > From: maxwithers@gmail.com > To: pbs@lists.ibiblio.org > Subject: Re: [pbs] Welwitschia, a source for > > Kipp, based on my Oakland yard a few miles from you, "frost" appears > here at any temp. below 40 F.
