Thanks to all for the input. And just to add a bit more, not only do the plants become solid green, as in the new leaves becoming solid green, but old variegated leaves become green. And they are grown side by side with the plants that never loose their variegation. I have never seen a variegated clivia, which has become green, become variegated again.
