Standard mediterranean conditions: summer dry, good light in winter, good drainage, don't freeze them (they are hardy to light frost). These are small plants and probably best grown in a pot. Their reported range is pretty large, from the Cape itself up into desert areas. So you might want to ask where exactly your seeds are from. Do you have the red or white version? I've found that the white version is easier to grow in my conditions. I don't know why the red one is difficult for me. Still experimenting to figure it out. It might want a little bit of moisture in summer. Good luck! Mike San Jose, CA (zone 9, min temp 20F / -6C)
