In the by lines to a recent post I mentioned that some hybrid lilies here are approaching 9 feet in height. Manfreda virginica, which is blooming for the first time here, has an inflorescence which is already over six feet high - and the lowest flower bud has yet to open. Is it something in the water - or just so much water?
