Thanks for calling attention to those galleries, Tony; I had not noticed them before. You mention that the Chinese grocery store form of Lilium davidii gets 18-24" tall and doesn't fall over. But your photograph suggests to me at least that the inflorescence itself might be almost 18" high. It's hard to imagine that inflorescence with only six inches of stem under it. : ) Am I missing something here?
