Several decades ago, while I was living in New York, I remember hiking the A.T. somewhere in New England -- perhaps southern Vermont, where the trail was boardwalk through a bog of pitcher plants in bloom. That was one of my most notable experiences -- I would recommend to anyone to take that hike.
