This is definitely off topic but I think too good not to mention. Here it is summer and the white butterflies are much in evidence. One day one of my sons, who is most certainly not a gardener, said that sprinkling flour on brassicas makes the plants of no interest to the white butterflies. So with a teastrainer I have dusted my broccoli plants and no caterpillars, watched some white butterflies dancing around and they didn't show any interest in the broccoli. Have waited for a week to see if it really is so, and still of no interest. We had a shower one day which washed quite a bit off, but there still was some, and still no caterpillars. Would it work with other things, like daffodil grub etc? Ina Crossley Auckland New Zealand where we swelter and swelter. Can't remember ever having had a summer so hot and for so long. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4885 (20100221) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com/
