When I worked in Quincy, Florida I found a homesite that was over 100 years old- the rectangle of the original house footprint was formed by Lycoris radiata and Zephyranthes candida. I've also seen clumps of Narcissus jonquilla blooming in Quincy where no one had planted them in at least 50 years. Gladiolus dalenii are present in many old homesites of S. Georgia and N. Florida, plus of course crinums and Rhodophiala bifida. My other favorite survivor is Leucojum vernum. Erin Grace Thomasville, Georgia USA
