Hi Mary Sue, I have a few bulbs in the ground, on a North-facing slope, so they are still a bit shaded and probably a bit cooler then those in the black plastic containers on my sunny patio. Last year they were 2-3 weeks behind the ones on my patio and are only now beginning to push through the soil surface. Ken San Diego --- On Mon, 2/22/10, Mary Sue Ittner <msittner@mcn.org> wrote: ... My Scadoxus puniceus is in various stages of breaking dormancy including some that show nothing yet and others with the beginnings of the leaf or flower bud. In other years they have bloomed earlier, so perhaps all those days we had rain/overcast conditions have slowed them down.
