I'm just in from trimming my Iris unguicularis, something I haven't done before but which sounds like a mighty good idea. Thank you Mary Sue Ittner for your timely remark. I grow it in the ground in a 15oF (-10oC) min. temp. sunhouse where it usually puts out its first tentative blooms around Oct. 30. For the cause of this year's delay I need look no further than the second dimmest June on record. Jim Jones Lexington, MA
