Hi Mary Sue, Well ... these were sold to me (Telos) as C.suaveolens. I suppose there could have been a mix-up, and if so, hopefully somebody on the list can set me right. I've also got one labelled as C.mackenii (supposedly a yellow one) but it has not bloomed yet for me. Any thoughts on getting a successful cross? - Ken San Diego --- On Mon, 11/16/09, Mary Sue Ittner <msittner@mcn.org> wrote: From: Mary Sue Ittner <msittner@mcn.org> Subject: Re: [pbs] Cyrtanthus suaveolens To: "Pacific Bulb Society" <pbs@lists.ibiblio.org> Date: Monday, November 16, 2009, 5:04 PM Hi Ken, Are you sure this Cyrtanthus is C. suaveolens? It looks a lot like C. mackenii which sometimes blooms multiple times a year. When we visited Cameron and Rhoda the first time in South Africa Rhoda took us to a Clivia meeting. The woman who was hosting the meeting had many Cyrtanthus mackenii in bloom and they were various colors including some that were more than one color like the flowers in your pictures. Perhaps someone in our group who knows this genus like Bill Dijk, Cameron, or Paul Chapman could comment if they see this post. As always your photos are really nice. Mary Sue
