Before everyone rushes off to spray their gardens stem to stern with
imidaproclid, a reminder that it is a "nicotinoid" insecticide, a class which
has been implicated in the decline of honeybees. The jury is, afaik, still out
on this matter, but bee problems are serious enough that it might be a good
idea to refrain from using this class of insecticide.

We just about can't live without honeybees, but we can live without pest-free
bulbs.

For Linda: it's available for domestic use in Canada, but afaik only as a flea
killer for cats and dogs.
