I have just returned from a trip to the southern parts of the Western Cape where I came upon several diminutive plants of a Daubenya or Massonia species. They were (...are, as I did not remove them!) growing in almost pure, white sand quite close to the coastal town of Witsand. Flower colour varies from white to a soft pastel pinkish-mauve as seen in the photograph.
