Thanks to all of you for your helpful info on Cardwell lilies Now I know that I planted them too deep, in too big a pot, in standard potting soil (not well draining enough) and let them get too cold their first winter. Then they had a dry spring and early summer. The leaves didn't come up until mid summer and they never bloomed. I'll repot them crowded, shallow, in a fast draining mix, and bring them in this winter. Hopefully next year they will be happier. I know for a fact it will get hot enough for them!
