Dear list,

I am looking for cultural information on Crinum luteolum. I found an interesting article about them in the IBS website, with lots of photo's too.

http://bulbsociety.org/GALLERY_OF_THE_WORLDS_BULBS…

According to this they grow in deep sand in and around ephemeral creek beds (short lived rivers) and at some localities in slightly heavier soil, in the flood margins of permanent waterholes.

What I would like to know is whether they will grow with wet feet for the duration of the growing season? I have a plant of Crinum rautenerianum, another desert species from Namibia with similar habitat preferences, which has been growing in shallow water for the whole summer and it is thriving. Would C. luteolum favour similar conditions? What have others found to work for this species?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Kind regards,
