But I have to use this opportunity to trash APHIS a little bit...I called this number fairly recently to inquire after a slow-moving package of my own. The woman who answered promised to "check the logbooks" -apparently everything is physically logged in and out in ledgers or similar, not in a database (she confirmed this - it isn't my interpretation). She did so, and called back with the information that the package had never been received by APHIS. Two days later it arrived here, and yes, it had been inspected and cleared at JFK. Sigh.
