Dear All: Here in the Bay area we have had quite a bit of snow. Last Saturday morning, at 2.00 AM, there was rain at the south end of the Waldo tunnel just above sausalito and at the north end the cars emerged into 6+ inches of snow over black ice. The result was a pile up of 28 cars, all now total wrecks, 2 people killed, and the 101 was closed for ome 20 hours north bound, and for many hours south bound as well, as emergncy vehicles had to use the lanes to evacuate the injured. What a mess, what an unusual sight to see, right down on the waterline, snow piled on cars in the morning. Not too much damage to my bulbs, in fact many of my Callas, Iphion, Narcissus, Cyclamen, & Crocus seem to like the cold as they are still flowering well and lasting for much longer than usual. Dutch iris in flower, Gladiolus growing well, but what is next? Cheers, John E. Bryan
