I just purchased a Boophone disticha bulb, a rather large one from Paul Christian. Oops, I'm sorry, I mean I invested in it. I too read that they resent root disturbance, but of course, this bulb is dormant and has no roots at all, so I imagine that it will take a few years catch it's breath. My question is when should I water it? I potted it but I am unclear as to when to start watering. I read that it is a winter grower, but I am not sure if they mean 'winter' as in the southern hemisphere, or northern. Should I keep it dry until autumn, or start watering now?
