I don't know if this species is in cultivation at all. Some samples are in cultivation in Catania BG's, where the staff described it in 1984 and so far it's the only photo and reference available on the net. Last year I saw P.Christian offering it for a while, his samples from Malta he said. About hardiness I grow it here in zone 9b, with lows of -3°C and it doesn't show any damage. I guess it could have a comparable hardiness with S.peruviana. Angelo Porcelli
