Dear Jim, I haven't gotten this one to bloom yet, although it seems to be growing well so I'm not a good source of information. Some of the Scadoxus are from warm wet summers and that's not what mine are so success may be elusive. My plants never really go dormant. The leaves persist through our wet winter even if I shelter them from the rain which I usually do to prevent disease. Since the leaves are hanging in there, occasionally I give them a drink. The new leaves come up right through the old. Perhaps Jim Shields and Doug Westfall can share what they do. Mary Sue
