You are right, but producing such a monumental work as "Colins Guide to Bulbs" with an excellence that provides first hand valuable information even today could have not been possible to someone that merely conveyed into text others' knowledge. Remember that as the Editor of "The Garden" he had access to every single garden and greenhouse in England as well as all Flower Shows. Another friend of his Vic Horton. He was able to follow the evolution of many bulbs imported from Afghanistan and Iran In Shah's time, where there had not been collections since. We are showered every year with gorgeous bulb books with the most extraordinary images but great bulb books remain a handful. Patrick Synge was an expert in Liliums,a genus he mentions as "the queen of all bulbs". All the best Alberto _________________________________________________________________ MSN Amor: busca tu ½ naranja http://latam.msn.com/amor/
