I just borrowed "No One Gardens Alone, A Life of Elizabeth Lawrence" by Emily Herring Wilson from the library. It is a very thorough biography of Elizabeth Lawrence, with frequent mention of bulbs scattered through its pages. I especially enjoyed the chapter entitled The Little Bulbs, with background on Mr. Krippendorf, Lob's Woods, and her writing of the book. I've seen a robin, and a flock of bluebirds but the garden is still covered with snow, melting slowly day by day. Judy in New Jersey, where the days are appreciably longer
