[Solved: Ledebouria]Tiny Bulb and smaller flowers

Friend gave this to me without any idea what it is. The pot is a 2-1/4" RP

Any ideas?

Should it be planted deeper?

It looks like Ledebouria socialis. It's happy crowded in small containers.

Agreed - L. s. socialis.

The bulbs are naturally epigeal and usually cluster reasonably rapidly. There are numerous clones and crosses in cultivation differing in size and in details of leaf pattern. L. s. violacea has leaves with the underside a very deep red-purple and is also common in cultivation (it must be far more common in the UK than L. s. s.)

They will usually flower profusely if kept cool, well-lit and totally dry over-winter. Water reasonably generously during summer, just don't flood it.
