As I read old issues of Brian Mathew's Bulb Newsletter, I come across mentions of things I once grew and lost, mainly when I moved and had the bulbs out of the ground too long. Where can I now get seed of Colchicum kesselringii, Crocus baytopiorum, Fritillaria liliacea, Fritillaria brandegeei, or Fritillaria tubiformis? The full list is a long one. What are you missing now?

Jane,

Many of us share the same frustration!  Many garden-worthy species are simply not offered for sale any more.  Your best approach might be to publish your list here and on the SRGC forum; and hope that a fellow gardener is willing and able to share them.

I am in USDA zone 8b where temperatures almost never fall below 15F  -9.4C.  Rainfall 50"+  but none  June-September.  We seldom get snow; but when it comes we get 30" overnight.  soil is sandy loam with a lot of humus.  Oregon- where Dallas is NNW of Phoenix.
