I was curious if anyone has tried growing Gloxinia nematanthodes as a houseplant? I am in USDA Zone 5 and despite this plant being described as a "hardy" gloxinia it's not going to winter over in the ground here. Yes, I received it as a geophyte (corm? tuber?) from a BX and I am going to store one plant dry, but gosh those red flowers would really brighten up a snowy winter day. So I'm going to experiment: one stored like a dahlia, and one growing in the house like an African violet or a cape primrose. Just curious if anyone has already tried the houseplant route.
