Euphorbiaceae

Euphorbiaceae or the spurge family contains 300 genera and around 7,500 species which occur worldwide. Their distribution is centered in the tropics. Plants range from annual herbs, to succulents, to trees. A large number of the family contain a milky latex which can be extremely toxic, causing blindness in humans if the latex enters the eyes. Flowers are unisexual where female and male flowers can occur on the same plant or different plants. Some species such as poinsettia are ornamental whereas other species such as cassava (manihot) are vital food sources in certain parts of the world.

We have the genus Manihot represented on the wiki.
