This page contains information about Crinum hybrids with striped flowers and names that begin with Q-Z.
Crinum 'Regina's Disco Lounge' is most likely a hybrid of C. bulbispermum × C. zeylanicum. It appeared so similiar to typical C. × goweni that I was suspicious about its uniqueness until I grew and flowered it. The plant is somewhat larger and the flowers are three times larger than "typical" C. × goweni forms. Photos taken July 2006 by Alani Davis.
Crinum 'Royal White' (syn. C. 'Nassau') is a C. × digweedii (C. americanum × C. scabrum) hybrid. It has very fragrant white flowers with pink stripes. Photos taken by Alani Davis and Jay Yourch.
Crinum 'School Bells' is a hybrid of C. macowanii × C. scabrum made by Marcelle Sheppard. It has an attractive, tidy, arched rosette of leaves. Photos taken June 2010 by Jay Yourch.
Crinum 'Schreck' is a C. × herbertii (C. bulbispermum × C. scabrum) hybrid with nicely shaped, red striped flowers. It's been named and distributed by Marcelle Sheppard, who got it from the Schreck family of Vidor, Texas, by the way of her friend, Ruth Dubuisson. It closely resembles 'Carroll Abbott', but there are observable differences. 'Schreck' has a white stigma while 'Carroll Abbott' has a red stigma. On 'Schreck' the back of each petal has a sharply defined red stripe on a white background, but on 'Carroll Abbott' the color bleeds so the red stripe is on a light pink background. The stripes on 'Schreck' are broader on the inner petal series, especially towards the petal bases, so it presents a redder center. Photos taken May 2007 by Jay Yourch.
Crinum 'Stars and Stripes' is a C. × digweedii (C. erubescens × C. scabrum) hybrid made by T.M. Howard. It has very dramatic, wide, dark red stripes. Photos taken by Jay Yourch and Alani Davis.
Crinum 'Strictly Feminine' is a Dave Lehmiller hybrid of C. variabile × C. lineare. It is a small, vigorous plant with spreading, narrow, arching foliage and nice, white flowers with pale pink keels. Photos taken by Alani Davis.
Crinum 'Stryped Spider Lily' is a hybrid of Crinum asiaticum × C. × herbertii 'Gulf Pride' made by Pat Malcolm. Photos taken by Alani Davis.
Crinum 'Thaddeus Howard' is a rare red-flowered form of C. × herbertii (C. bulbispermum × C. scabrum) made by T. M. Howard. The variable flowers often have random white streaks, a trait it passed on to 'Carnival'. Photos taken June 2009 by Jay Yourch.
Crinum 'Vera Cruz' is a C. × baconi (C. americanum × C. zeylanicum) hybrid which is likely a backcross because it is fertile, readily forming seed. Thad Howard found this hybrid growing wild near Vera Cruz, Mexico and it has also been distributed as "Vera Cruzana" and as "Marisco Vera Cruzana". The stripes on this hybrid are darkest on the backs of the tepals with a faded appearance on the inside though still strongly rose. Photos taken June 2006 by Alani Davis.
Crinum × virginicum is an old hybrid of unknown origins, but it appears to be another C. × herbertii (C. bulbispermum × C. scabrum) hybrid. Photos taken May 2006 by Alani Davis.
Crinum 'Zan Gypsy' is a hybrid of C. 'Norma Justine' (C. bulbispermum × (C. moorei var. schmidtii × C. bulbispermum)) × C. graminicola made by Dave Lehmiller. It is a small, vigorous plant with spreading, narrow, arching foliage & nice, white flowers with pastel reddish apricot keels. Photos taken by Alani Davis.
Crinum zeylanicum × C. album is a hybrid made by Alani Davis. It has large white flowers with pink stripes along the keels. Photo taken June 2010 by Andy Davis.
