Amaryllis belladonna and lycoris squamigera

Hi Everyone,

So I live in the Sacramento CA area (zone 8ish) and I have had what are apparently lycoris squamigera planted for several years and all I've ever seen are a few leaves in the winter time. I just got some amaryllis belladonna from the bulb exchange and read the information about both species on the wiki. So my question is: it says that it is unlikely that both types would grow in the same region. So that being said should I just dig up the lycoris and get rid of them or is there any chance if I put them in the right place and give them proper care that they will do something for me? Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.
