I got around to looking at the fruit from my passiflora caerulea (blue
passion flower) yesterday - a lot of seed, covered in sticky material.
It is said to be important to remove this because it inhibits germination.

I put them in a sieve and ran water over them, and generally messed
about ineffectively.

Getting to the question which my be relevant, is there some substance
which digests this kind of material?
