Jane asked about the name of the star which might be the star suggested in the botanical name Hippeastrum.
In the Spanish  Wikipedia   article   https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/…
there is this: There are different versions regarding the origin of the name:

   - Caio Domenico Gallo,    7 indicates that this denomination was taken in homage to the respect and devotion to the Most Holy Virgin of the Epiphany, to which pilgrims came from the East guided by a star, as well as to the virgin Stella Maris.
   - Giuseppe Bonfiglio e Costanzo,    8 figure the origin in the star of Orion, progenitor of Messina .
   - Giuseppe La Farina,    9 states that the denomination was taken in imitation of the homonymous military order instituted in 1352 by John II ,    10 kingofFrance.    https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

So I think Orion might be  what you are looking for.
Jim  McKenney, just back from a day long trip and now back to dinner.
