Semi-off topic 'Adonis amurensis propagation

Dear PBSers,

I am quite fond of Adonis amurensis. It is suddenly up and in bloom. Years ago I got 2 small starts and I have a dozen blooming today. My readings suggest it is tricky to propagate. The literature says divide shortly after they go dormant, triccky to re-establish, pot up for TLC, the dislike potting up any time, etc.

So does any one have experience propagating this species. The roots are not quite the typical bulb/corm/tuber, but are dense root stocks that are dormant most months of the year.

And while I am grovelling for info on A amurensis, I’d love to get plants or viable seed of other species. Any other species -purchase or trade. Please.

Many thanks and best. Wishing for spring. Jim W.
