Most of these plants tolerate rain throughout the year in England, but
demand excellent drainage in wet Summers. They flower at the end of their
growth when there are few roots left, and grow roots fairly late in Autumn
despite being in damp conditions. I think of them as growing from mid
Winter to early Summer, rather than being strictly winter growing. Of
course I have grown them perfectly well under glass too, with a very dry
Summer.
