Narcissus fly, just replant the remains of the bulb, The basal plate should
sprout quite happily if it is not too cold or wet. no need to cut it up any
more.

  I cut into my bulb and found live caterpillars inside.  What are they??
I never heard of anything in Ohio that would eat a Hippeastrum bulb from
the inside out.  YUCK.
