Hello,

i am new to this list, so i will introduce myself first. My name is
Christian Dietz, i am 35 years old and live in the middle of Germany. My
main interest in plants is in carnivorous plants, especially the genus
Drosera, Sarracenia, Utricularia and Genlisea. I am growing this kind of
plants for about 20 years now. In the last years i started to travel
quite a lot to see some of the plants i cultivate for years in their
natural habitats. I have travelled to the US, Brazil, Western Australia
and three times to South Africa in order to see those plants. While
looking for Drosera in South Africa we came across a large population of
Geissorhiza radians close to Darling. I was totally amazed by the flower
of this plant and wanted to grow it since. During internet researches i
came across many more interesting bulbs and got fascinated from them.
Soon after i found some sources for seeds and bulbs and i am now growing
about 20 different species. A small, but steadily growing collection :)

The reason, why i write to the list is, that i would like to ask you for
some help identifying one of the plants i have. A few years ago i have
sown seeds of Geissorhiza splendidissima. This year, a different flower
and plant in this pot came up. I think, it is an Ixia species (i have
never sown seeds or cultivated an Ixia species before). I tried to
identify it with my literature, but i am totally unsure about the
species. It would be great, if anyone could help me with this!

You can see pictures of the plant here:
