Dodecatheon etymology

Thanks Mark, it's interesting that the common primrose could have received such a compliment. I have noticed the similarity between Dodecatheon and P. veris (Primula sect. Primula), it's flowering in my garden right now. But according to literature, Dodecatheon is closest related to Primula sect. Parryi. Dodecatheon apparently evolved from a "pin" morph, perhaps due to changes in pollinator type/population since it evolved to facilitate "buzz-pollination" (aka sonication).
